They did it with the aviation industry; Palantir built a whole platform delivering on their clients’ needs while powering entire systems from every customer, supplier and even the competition, all while establishing Foundry as the de facto platform for this mission. SkyWise not only holds the crown but is expanding its realm in the aviation industry.
And then came other industries, like the automotive world (BMW, Mercedes, Volkswagen, …) which we talked about last September. Also Energy (with Exxon and BP as primary examples, with all the ones that got confirmed in the months between).
And now Palantir is doing the exact same thing in the Healthcare industry, as an example of new industries in which Foundry is slowly becoming the gold standard. But in this article I want to talk about a growing Palantir presence in… the Consulting industry.
The first hints go back to 2021, with the first “Dossier” having Accenture as a company using Foundry (later confirmed by Palantir in April 2022). Then other companies began appearing and more links were being generated. We got Capco, Sopra Steria, and a few others. But the big moment came in August, with McKinsey and BCG (Boston Consulting Group) having Foundry access links for the first time.
It’s not every day that 2 of the “Big Three” partner with Palantir and appear to be using Foundry… And then the big question needs to be asked: Why?
Why would a big chunk of the largest consulting firms on earth (and a couple more that are not strictly tied to consulting but their business is related, like Deloitte) want to use Foundry? Why do they have links? The more reasonable answer to me is that they have partnered with Palantir to provide Foundry insights to their clients and aid them in knowing exactly how Foundry can help them.
That way the client doesn’t spend resources in trying to understand everything the platform is able to do, the middle man (in this case the consulting firm) gains from expanding the relationship with the client and potentially getting a cut from the final deal and Foundry is more easily available to a broader array of clients.
Even if we already had this huge list of consulting firms and other professional services companies from months ago, it wasn’t until I saw Booz Allen as a client the other day that I decided to write this article.
Booz Allen is one of the most important consulting firms associated with the Pentagon, with the main focus on military and intelligence, mainly a Government contractor. Add that to the work Palantir is doing with the US Government through Gotham and we end up with a potentially huge relationship. Booz Allen’s partnership would be bigger than what it seems at first look, if / when announced.
The fact of the matter is Palantir is growing its presence and each month more consulting firms are getting their hands on Foundry. Real impact, and that’s what matters.
Consultancy = all companies can be reached.
Great article Either!
