The United States is, of course, Palantir’s biggest market, and they’ve been providing Foundry to companies from basically every western country. Hundreds of companies have access to it and it’s only growing.
Even if we’ve been seeing some big growth in already established markets like the UK and France, with new ones like Spain a couple of months ago with Mutua Madrileña, there’s a new country that has been registering new entities for the last 3 months. And this country is the UAE, the United Arab Emirates.
Don’t get me wrong, I know Palantir has been present in the UAE for some years, but I’m beginning to see this for the first time.
Back in August of last year, Palantir registered Foundry domains for about half a dozen countries, with the UAE being one of them. And some companies in that country have begun to appear as Foundry users. I’m talking about codenames and 1 specific company that specializes in health insurance and is not exactly a small one.
The UAE government has made significant investments in digital infrastructure, including building smart cities and implementing various digital initiatives to improve public services. In 2017, the UAE announced its Strategy for Artificial Intelligence, aiming to make the country a leader in AI development and deployment. With such goals, it’s reasonable to think Foundry can play a crucial role in achieving these objectives. And they are already doing so.
These could very well be demos and trials, but that would be the normal procedure before translating into actual solid contracts with these companies, and I’ll be keeping an eye into that for the Foundry_Gap tool inside DataBase.
Also, one of the huge benefits about using Foundry is that it can deliver various results without even knowing, and they’ll be ready to be used if you want in the future. I’m talking about the UAE government using data by the health insurance corporations to get exact numbers and predict the percentage of insured citizens in, say, a decade, for example. There is an almost unlimited amount of results we don’t know that we need yet, and Foundry is there for you to build a solution on top of that and converge everything into one place. The UAE knows and they are working on that.
And I’m only talking of what they could be doing now with the information that I know today. Just imagine what the UAE codenames I have in DataBase mean and the possible government plans that are already into place.
I’ve been tracking the UAE and their links for a while now, and I wouldn’t be writing this if I didn’t think we will hear from this in a not too distant future. I firmly believe Palantir will make public a project with a company or with a government entity from the UAE in the next few months, if not receive more registrations from UAE entities.
In the meantime, I already have some entities from new countries and will continue to dedicate articles when I gather enough information on them. I’ll also be making updates or 2nd parts if the findings increase greatly in the short term.
